Angelo State University, a public doctoral-level university in Texas, needed a more reliable way to protect diverse academic and administrative data across its four-year device refresh cycle. Its IT team was spending too much time backing up devices manually, and each machine could take 5 to 6 hours to back up through the old network-drive-to-tape process. Druva helped the university with Druva inSync to streamline backup and recovery.

Druva implemented Druva inSync on AWS to simplify refresh cycles, provide continuous data protection, and enable fast on-demand recovery. The result was a drop in initial backup time from 5 to 6 hours to about 90 minutes per machine, a 75% reduction in backup and restore time, and a 75% recovery of IT staff time previously spent on backups. Druva also enabled complete recovery after hard drive failures within minutes, keeping users productive and freeing the IT team to focus on other priorities.
