The Government of Bermuda faced a fragmented, department-centric web presence that caused inconsistent content, frequent downtime, multiple logins, and limited online services. To create a citizen-centric, mobile-friendly portal that supports distributed authors, analytics, accessibility and future expansion, OPIN Software was chosen to build the new site on Drupal 7 (using the Acquia platform) as the project’s core technology.

OPIN implemented a responsive, multisite Drupal solution hosted on Acquia with advanced search, streamlined navigation, WCAG accessibility, analytics and a simple authoring interface; two-week development sprints and embedded Government team members enabled rapid knowledge transfer. The first phase launched on March 31, 2016 — on time and on budget — giving the Government of Bermuda a scalable, secure foundation, improved uptime and traffic handling, positive stakeholder feedback, and the internal capability to expand services using Drupal.
