A Dropcountr Case Study
Lake Arrowhead Community Services District, a mountain community with about 8,000 residential connections in the San Bernardino Mountains, needed a better way to manage seasonal water demand and reduce leaks. Because many properties are second homes and the district could face higher water costs if usage exceeded limits, the utility turned to Dropcountr and its customer engagement portal to give residents more visibility into their water use and leak activity.
Dropcountr integrated with LACSD in just two weeks and was launched as the seasonal population began to grow. The utility used the platform’s alerts and POLYGON targeting tool to reach location-specific customer groups, and the results included more than 15% customer registration, 44% average monthly engagement, and 1,250 leak alerts sent over 12 months. According to Mark Lopez, Dropcountr helped give customers more power to manage water use and identify leaks.
