This founder is following her curiosity—and helping others do the same

Birk Creative founder Birkenbeuel launched her own company after years of feeling undervalued in corporate roles and realizing, through a contract discussion for her band Utah Carol, how important it was to protect creative ownership. The challenge was finding a way to work independently while safeguarding intellectual property and helping other creators and business owners do the same, with Dropbox playing a role in managing her band’s files and assets.

To solve this, Birkenbeuel built Birk Creative and related ventures around ownership and education, while using Dropbox to store Utah Carol’s music securely. The result was stronger control over digital rights and long-term revenue from licensed work, including ongoing royalty payments from songs written decades ago. Birk Creative’s approach has helped her protect her own work and teach others how to preserve and monetize theirs.
