A Dropbox Case Study
TBWA\New York, led on the creative side by Chris Rowson, is a storied agency known for surprising, disruptive work. The challenge Rowson describes is turning individual inspiration into big, multi-disciplinary campaigns: sustaining creative energy, assembling the right mix of nontraditional talent, and moving ideas from brief to execution across motion, typography, photography and production.
Rowson’s solution is a “maker” studio model—building diverse, international teams, encouraging cross-discipline collaboration, and proactively partnering with external specialists. That approach produced projects like a rainbow-flag–inspired color font for New York Pride, developed pro bono with Fontself and deployed across the city, demonstrating how the studio’s collaborative process delivers innovative, high-impact creative work.
