Keeping up with the changing face of education

Dropbox helped colleges adapt to the changing face of education, where students and faculty need seamless access to coursework and simple ways to distribute and collect assignments across devices. Schools like the University of Oklahoma and Cleveland Community College faced widespread personal Dropbox use on campus and needed an enterprise-ready solution that preserved convenience while addressing security, privacy, and administrative control.

Dropbox for Education provided that solution—deploying enterprise accounts, file requests for easy assignment collection, integrations with LMS and security/SSO partners, and compliance with standards like ISO 27018 to support COPPA/FERPA requirements. The rollout at institutions including OU, MIT and CSU Fullerton drove broad adoption, improved workflow and access, and contributed to growth to more than 3,000 educational institutions and one in four U.S. university students using Dropbox.
