A Dropbox Case Study
The University of Sydney, a top‑100 global university known for multidisciplinary research, faced a challenge: researchers were using free Dropbox accounts and other disparate file‑sharing tools, creating fragmented storage, limited uptake of the official solution, and a lack of governance and oversight that posed risk to research data.
After competitor and risk analysis and consultation with the research community, the University rolled out Dropbox Business across researchers, staff and students. The enterprise deployment gave IT greater visibility and control, secured and scaled collaboration for about 100,000 users, and sped multidisciplinary teamwork—delivering better data governance and a smoother experience for researchers and data stewards.
