How the Red Cross supports Italy during this time of crisis

The Italian Red Cross in Lombardy faced an unprecedented COVID‑19 emergency in spring 2020, with hospitals overwhelmed, thousands of cases and deaths, and an urgent need to coordinate 25,000 volunteers to run ambulances, outpatient services and deliveries while sharing accurate public-health information quickly.

Dropbox donated licenses to the Lombardy operational team, creating a central hub for videos, infographics, FAQs and remote collaboration across regions. That faster, simpler sharing helped the Red Cross produce and distribute medical guidance and coordinate front-line response—supporting over 100,000 people and enabling 6,000 ambulances, 1,227 outpatient services and 10,549 supermarket deliveries between March 1 and April 30.
