Neil Bentley, founder of Webvid, conceived Camflare while recovering from COVID-19 as his team and clients were forced into remote work. With real-time tools like Zoom proving time-consuming and clumsy, he needed a simple, reliable way for distributed teams and blue‑chip clients to capture high‑quality video without friction.
Together with collaborator Steve Higgins they built Camflare on Dropbox so anyone can request, record, and return video with a single link. The asynchronous, easy-to-use tool was quickly adopted by clients beyond Webvid’s own needs, improving remote collaboration and giving the team a compact, scalable product they’re proud to grow.
