A Dropbox Case Study
Earth Hour is a global grassroots environmental campaign active in over 170 countries that needed a simple, scalable way to gather and share documents, photos, and videos among a mix of WWF offices, volunteers, and event ambassadors. The team faced challenges around fluctuating storage needs, varied technical and cultural backgrounds, mobile access limitations, and secure partner file sharing.
In 2012 Earth Hour adopted Dropbox Business, leveraging its familiar interface and a set of FAQs to onboard users quickly. Dropbox allowed the team to distribute templates and talking points, collect and archive media from around the world, and scale user access for events. The result was improved cross-cultural collaboration, flexible mobile and selective-sync access, better control over partner files, and a streamlined workflow for organizing and promoting Earth Hour.
