Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead on the joy of creating things with friends

The Sundance Film Festival premiere of *Something in the Dirt* followed directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead as they tackled the challenge of making a pandemic-era indie film largely from home, with remote collaboration across editing and VFX. Working with Dropbox, the team needed a reliable way to share large files and keep a distributed post-production workflow organized.

Dropbox helped the filmmakers bounce cuts and VFX work back and forth remotely, including with VFX supervisor Alban Kasikci and editor Michael Felker. According to the team, Dropbox was “very pivotal” for remote editing, making file sharing and project coordination easier and helping the film come together smoothly despite the distance.
