Disaster Relief Australia Partners with DroneDeploy.org to Provide Disaster Relief

Disaster Relief Australia, a veteran-led humanitarian organization, needed a faster, more accurate way to gather aviation intelligence during disaster response operations. The team partnered with DroneDeploy.org and used DroneDeploy’s drone mapping software to collect aerial data that could support search, rescue, recovery, and evacuation planning in disaster zones.

With DroneDeploy, Disaster Relief Australia mapped affected areas, including a 2018 earthquake and tsunami response in Indonesia where they flew 42 missions in 48 hours, captured 6,000 images over 104 acres, and helped jump-start search and rescue efforts within 24–48 hours. DroneDeploy also supported bushfire response in Australia by helping teams assess damage, protect critical infrastructure, and plan clean-up and evacuations more efficiently.
