USA Truck - Customer Case Study

USA Truck, a publicly traded North American truckload carrier with about 1,750 drivers, faced operational headaches from a transponder-based weigh station bypass system: devices were lost or malfunctioned, forcing drivers into service centers, causing downtime and eroding the time-saving benefit of bypasses. To solve this, USA Truck replaced transponders with Drivewyze’s PreClear weigh station bypass service, integrated on its PeopleNet fixed-mount onboard computer platform.

Deployed fleetwide in November 2015 and provided free to drivers, Drivewyze eliminated transponder management, delivered timely weigh‑station alerts, and improved driver experience and safety. The Drivewyze implementation helped USA Truck avoid 2,500 hours of weigh‑station delays in June 2016, saved more than $1,360,000 from January–June 2016, and returned 12,576 hours of drive time over that six‑month period.
