A Drivewyze Case Study
Melton Truck Lines, an Oklahoma-based flatbed carrier with about 1,900 late-model trucks, faced costly delays when drivers were forced to stop at weigh stations—delays that reduced pay, risked missed narrow delivery windows at construction sites, and could trigger significant fines. The company evaluated Drivewyze’s weigh station bypass service (available on their Omnitracs MCP200 devices) as a way to reduce pull-ins and protect tight schedules.
Drivewyze delivered an in-cab bypass service plus analytics that Melton activated fleetwide on nearly 1,100 trucks after pilot reporting showed large potential gains. Drivewyze analytics estimated the first full month saved about $85,000 and 550 hours of drive time; by January 2017 Drivewyze reported 14,000 bypasses, an estimated 824 hours saved, roughly $130,000 in savings, and a 40% increase in bypasses since starting.
