Brooks-DeHart - Customer Case Study

Brooks-DeHart, a Newton, NC–based furniture carrier operating a 100-truck fleet across the Southeast, struggled with weigh station and agricultural inspection delays using a transponder-based bypass service. The transponder system was administratively cumbersome, prone to loss (about $100 each), and offered limited coverage for Florida agricultural inspection sites—forcing many trucks to stop despite hauling only furniture. To improve uptime after switching to ELDs, Brooks-DeHart evaluated and adopted the Drivewyze Weigh Station Bypass Service.

Drivewyze implemented a geofencing, transponder-free bypass solution with Heads‑Up Notifications and streamlined access to Florida agricultural inspections, reducing unnecessary stops and expanding bypass locations in NC and SC. The impact was immediate: in January 2017 Brooks‑DeHart received 2,572 bypasses, avoided 73 hours of weigh station delays, achieved a 71% bypass rate, and saved more than $11,237 in operating costs that month—enabling drivers to average about 700 miles per day instead of roughly 600 and improving on-time deliveries and detention pay opportunities. Drivewyze’s service directly increased productivity and reduced operating expense for Brooks‑DeHart.
