A DriveNets Case Study
a large North American cable MSO was facing significant challenges scaling the capacity of its aggregation and peering networks. The company needed to support fast-growing traffic demands with a solution that offered efficient, granular scalability over five years, operational simplicity, and lower costs, all while ensuring interoperability with its existing infrastructure. They evaluated traditional monolithic chassis and a newer disaggregated model to meet these objectives.
DriveNets addressed these needs with its Network Cloud solution, a software-based platform built on a Distributed Disaggregated Chassis (DDC) architecture using white boxes. The deployment across 14 sites successfully migrated over 25% of the MSO's traffic onto the new network. The results included a reduced operational burden, a lower total cost of ownership, and granular scalability that allows the network to be managed as single virtual entities. DriveNets provided the MSO with a future-proof, highly scalable solution that eliminated the complexities and costs of traditional hardware upgrades.
