Adrian Rosebrock of PyImageSearch, a blog that teaches computer vision, needed to validate and fund his PyImageSearch Gurus course via Kickstarter while building urgency and converting readers into backers. To do this he used Drip for email marketing—setting up targeted broadcasts, campaigns and automation rules to sequence educational previews, a syllabus, rewards information and launch reminders.
With Drip’s automated campaigns and broadcasts he sent five pre-launch emails plus the launch email, creating urgency that drove immediate action: the $2,500 goal was met in under 30 minutes, the project was funded in less than 25 minutes, Day 1 closed at $8,000+, and the campaign finished at $35,000 from 258 backers—overfunding by $32,500. Drip’s tools and automation were credited with enabling the timing, conversions and measurable momentum behind that success.
