NCR Uses Dremio to Deliver Business Insights at a Faster Clip

NCR, a global software- and services-led enterprise provider in financial services, retail, hospitality, telecom, and technology, needed to modernize its analytics environment to deliver faster insights and better customer service. For its Quote-to-Cash (QTC) Analytics initiative, NCR had to bring together data from many sources and break down silos that were slowing development, making requests rigid, and extending turnaround times for business users. Dremio was selected to help support this effort, alongside Hadoop, Sqoop, and Tableau.

NCR implemented Dremio as the compute layer between its data lake and analytics tools, using it to build a semantic layer and enable live Tableau dashboards directly on the data lake. With Dremio, NCR cut pipeline rebuild time from more than two months to days, reduced report and dashboard development from months to days, and improved query performance by 10x to 30x, with typical complex queries returning in under 30 seconds. The company also reduced consultant dependency and accelerated its move toward a modern, cloud-ready data platform.
