Heirloom Computing, an award-winning US-based mainframe modernization provider, faced a challenge in expanding its service offering. Their strategy required enhancing integration with their JES/JCL engine and developing a next-generation transpiler for refactoring PL/1 applications to Java, but they lacked the necessary technical manpower and niche expertise in-house.

Partnering with Dreamix provided the solution. Dreamix developed a COBOL to Java transpiler and a PL/I to Java compiler from scratch, while also integrating Heirloom's batch processing engine. This collaboration allowed Heirloom to significantly expand its service offering, reduce expenses thanks to new proprietary software solutions, and develop several critical migration tools, solidifying its position as an industry leader.
