The Los Angeles County Development Authority, which manages Section 8 and rental housing applications as well as community economic development data, needed a better way to handle and share information across its electronic tenant application. Working with DreamFactory Software and the DreamFactory Platform, the agency sought to unify data from multiple SQL Server databases hosted in Azure and make it easier to secure and expose that data through its front-end systems.

DreamFactory Software implemented live, documented REST APIs to connect the authority’s databases, streamline access, and secure internal endpoints with role-based controls and admin users. As a result, the Los Angeles County Development Authority has reduced reliance on multiple third-party tools, created a single source for data distribution, and laid the groundwork for future public-facing applications.
