E.C. Barton & Company, a long-established lumber and building materials retailer with 104 stores across 17 states, needed a way to connect its new ERP system to other tools despite having no built-in API connectivity. The company also wanted to share inventory and pricing data with customers in real time, but integrating its Linux environment with Bistrack on Microsoft SQL Server was too complex to build on its own, so it turned to DreamFactory Software and its platform.

DreamFactory Software provided the API integration layer E.C. Barton & Company needed, starting with the OSS package and later using the licensed commercial version. The solution let the company interface with its previously API-less ERP system and deliver near-real-time inventory and pricing data to customers through its e-commerce site, all without writing custom code.
