Recreating the Urgent Care Experience

Range Urgent Care, founded by Dr. Stephanie Trowbridge and Mathew Trowbridge, set out in 2017 to redesign the urgent care experience after seeing chronic problems with unpredictable, lengthy waits and inefficient administrative workflows that harm patient satisfaction and online reputation. Wanting a more welcoming, spa/coffee-shop–style environment, Range needed a way to make appointments reliable, reduce no‑shows, and streamline check‑in and charting.

Range implemented the DrChrono EHR platform to sync provider availability in real time, add a website virtual queue, automate text/email reminders, support kiosk check‑in for walk‑ins, and enable iPad-based bedside charting. The result was predictable same‑day scheduling, shorter visit times (patients commonly reported ~30‑minute visits), improved staff efficiency with less after‑hours charting, increased repeat business, and stronger online reviews.
