DKO Architecture embrace remote working with Drawboard Projects

DKO Architecture, a firm with a pre-existing remote work practice, faced the significant challenge of rapidly scaling its remote operations to its entire global workforce of approximately 200 employees due to COVID-19. Their key hurdle was adapting collaborative design and documentation review processes, which traditionally relied on in-person, side-by-side interaction and physical markups, to a fully digital and remote environment. To overcome this, they adopted Drawboard Projects from the vendor Drawboard.

The solution implemented was Drawboard Projects, a collaborative design review platform. This allowed DKO's distributed teams to interact instantly by marking up PDF documents in real-time during Zoom calls, effectively replicating the vital office-side collaboration. The impact was a seamless transition to remote work; the company successfully completed thousands of shop drawings online and maintained productivity. Drawboard provided the necessary tools for interactive display and eliminated the inefficient process of printing, manually marking, and scanning drawings, which was not possible in a remote capacity.
