A Drawboard Case Study
AECOM, a large multinational engineering firm, faced significant challenges with its paper-based design review process at its Doha, Qatar office. Managing over 7,000 drawings per large project led to wasted engineering time on rework, administration, and paper-related problems. The existing digital solutions were cumbersome and increased delivery times, prompting the search for a new tool.
Drawboard implemented its Projects application, which allowed AECOM's multi-disciplinary teams to mark up drawings simultaneously on Surface Studios using digital ink and individualized layers. This replaced the slow, sequential paper process with a parallel, collaborative one. The Drawboard solution drastically reduced the squad checking timeline, significantly cut printing in the head office within just one month, increased attention to detail, and improved workflow transparency. The project's success won an internal innovation award, and AECOM is now expanding its use of Drawboard Projects to other offices and client reviews.
