Case Study: Transilien customizes Agile-at-scale planning for remote work with Draft.io

A Draft.io Case Study

Preview of the Transilien Case Study

How Transilien customized common Agile-at-scale frameworks to adapt to remote working constraints

Transilien, the commuter rail network for the Paris region and part of France's SNCF, faced the challenge of adapting its large-scale Agile planning process for remote work during the COVID-19 lockdown. To prevent video conference fatigue and maintain productivity for its 180-person IT program, it needed to reimagine its quarterly PI Planning sessions with the help of its vendor, Draft.io.

The solution, implemented using the Draft.io virtual board, involved splitting the traditional one-day, in-person event into a series of shorter meetings over two weeks. This new remote process, which included advanced preparation and a 'speed dating' session to identify dependencies, actually increased participation from senior management and improved documentation. The result was a more productive and actionable planning process that maintained team cohesion built from previous in-person sessions.
