Lewisham Hospital NHS Trust, which includes University Hospital Lewisham, The Children’s Hospital Lewisham and Dunoran Home, faced fragmented patient records and time‑consuming manual duplicate searches—about 150 new registrations a day against 930,000 records, a six‑month backlog at one point, and real clinical risk from missed existing records. To achieve a single patient view and meet Connecting for Health requirements the Trust selected DQ Global (using Match™ for deduplication and Authentic8™ for address correction).
DQ Global implemented Match™ (with Authentic8™ for address cleansing) to link disparate records and identify duplicates, reducing a daily search from more than half a day to about 10 minutes. The system now finds 10–15 existing matches daily (around 4,000 correct merges per year) and identified 16,000 historical duplicates in under an hour across the 930,000‑record database, restoring data integrity, improving patient communications and reducing clinical risk.
