A DPSI Case Study
The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), a multi-campus two‑year college serving thousands of students, was struggling with a “paper jungle” in its maintenance department—preventive maintenance instructions in binders, hard-to-find cost and repair history, and missed or inefficiently scheduled work that risked disrupting classes. After evaluating several CMMS options, CCAC selected PMC for its ease of use and powerful reporting.
CCAC implemented PMC across five sites, loading equipment records, PM tasks and floor plans, training supervisors in hours, and standardizing parts language. PMC automates prioritization and capacity planning (about 900 scheduled PMs/week), tracks labor and materials, provides actionable reports to identify costly equipment and guide repair-vs-replace decisions, and has reduced downtime and asset risk—while enabling future goals like site networking and direct faculty work‑order entry.
