A DPSI Case Study
Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio—a top-ranked liberal arts institution—faced growing demands on its Department of Buildings & Grounds to plan, operate and maintain campus buildings and services as enrollment and facilities expanded. The department needed a reliable computerized maintenance management system to manage preventive schedules, handle frequent unscheduled “on-the-fly” requests, track equipment history, and produce accurate cost and inventory data; they had been using DPSI’s PMC CMMS since 1990 to address these needs.
By using PMC, Baldwin Wallace automated preventive maintenance schedules, centralized on-the-fly work orders from phones, email, security and other sources, and captured detailed equipment and cost histories. The system reduced breakdowns, delivered building-level maintenance costs and inventory valuations, improved response and service quality, and enabled plans for a web-based requester to streamline submissions and status tracking.
