A DPSI Case Study
Bacova Guild, a Ronile subsidiary and one of the nation’s largest producers of printed accent rugs, floor mats and bathroom ensembles (about 30 product lines and ~3,000 SKUs, with 70,000 sq. ft. of distribution space), needed a more complete computerized maintenance management system. Their existing retail-focused software lacked scheduling, work order and reporting capabilities, so Burlington Industries recommended DPSI’s PMC to meet Bacova’s growing maintenance and inventory-control needs.
Bacova implemented PMC, rebuilding inventory data and spending about six months configuring the system. Today PMC handles preventive maintenance scheduling (about 200 pages of weekly work orders), inventory control and vendor-based ordering, mechanic productivity and equipment cost/downtime reporting, and a twice-daily backup routine after an earlier data loss. The plant reports higher maintenance accountability, better parts availability (including PM for 23 forklifts) and strong satisfaction with PMC, with fewer than 10 support incidents to date.
