DEGES, a publicly owned project management company for transport infrastructure in Germany, faced challenges managing up to 500,000 documents per construction project amid increasingly decentralized and flexible teams. Information silos hindered collaboration, and sharing documents with numerous external partners was intensive. To address this, DEGES selected Doxis as its strategic enterprise content management (ECM) platform through a pan-European tender.

The solution implemented by Doxis provided a unified ECM platform for archiving, document management, and records, including a networked image archive and digital project spaces for external participants. Integration with SAP streamlined invoice processing and mail handling. Within a year of promoting the new digital approach, DEGES's archived documents doubled to approximately 2 million. Doxis enabled efficient cross-location collaboration, easy document sharing with external partners, and more automated workflows.
