Queens County Farm Museum Streamlines Reservations and Improves Reporting

The Queens County Farm Museum, a 47‑acre historic farm in New York City that serves hundreds of thousands of students year‑round (as many as 18 different classes a day), struggled with a custom Microsoft Access reservations system only accessible to staff. Flexible indoor and outdoor program spaces required up‑to‑date availability, but teachers had to call during business hours to book, creating seasonal “crunch time,” and staff lacked easy financial and executive reporting.

After evaluating vendors the museum selected Doubleknot, which launched in time for peak season with an always‑up‑to‑date online calendar and online payment options. The new system increased same‑day bookings, simplified daily schedule planning, gave executives and finance staff direct access to reports, made reservations more convenient for teachers, and can be expanded to manage birthday and wedding bookings.
