A Doubleknot Case Study

Preview of the Boy Scouts of America Case Study

Online-only registrations and reservations deliver benefits to council staff, leaders, troops and families

The Boy Scouts of America Southeast Louisiana Council, which serves more than 10,000 youth and 2,500 volunteers across eleven parishes and operates the Salmen Scout Reservation, faced growing administrative burdens from handling camp and activity reservations manually. Paper forms, spreadsheet data entry and manual payments consumed staff time, produced scattered records, and made it difficult to enforce advance‑booking rules, collect correct fees and ensure required forms were completed.

In 2015 the council implemented Doubleknot’s online booking for Salmen Scout Reservation, moving 100% of registrations and reservations online while adding three in‑office kiosks and staff training for patrons without internet access. Built‑in features — advance booking windows, custom pricing and discounts, group registration, custom forms, payment schedules, communications and comprehensive reporting — streamlined operations, cut paperwork, enabled on‑site signups and payments, improved compliance and audit readiness, and provided always‑up‑to‑date availability for visitors.
