The Maria Mitchell Association (MMA), a multi‑site Nantucket nonprofit that runs observatories, a natural science museum, an aquarium and historic collections, needed a more flexible registration system. Their previous vendor couldn’t handle custom summer‑camp forms or the variety of year‑round programs, and MMA wanted a solution that could also improve admissions, membership management and gift shop sales—so they implemented Doubleknot in 2016.
Doubleknot provided custom registration forms, faster reporting and an integrated Sales Station POS deployed on stationary terminals and a roaming iPad, saving staff hours and reducing call volume during camp registration. The system also enabled on‑site membership sales with automatic discounts, improved admissions and retail operations, increased customer satisfaction and membership revenue, and earned strong staff recommendations.
