Duke Energy Children’s Museum Simplifies Registration for Learning Through Play Conference

Cincinnati Museum Center’s Duke Energy Children’s Museum runs the annual Learning Through Play conference for families and early childhood educators, which grew from about 400 to over 600 attendees and offered 40+ workshops. Organizers needed a registration system that let participants choose up to four sessions without conflicts, purchase optional meals and museum admission, identify educators eligible for CE credit, and easily apply scholarships for families in need.

The museum implemented Doubleknot’s program registration solution in 2015, using multiple registrant types and price groups, session conflict checking, conditional custom forms, automatic fee calculations, on-site electronic check-in, and branded registration pages. The rollout was smooth, participants rated the new process easier in post-conference surveys, administrators received the reports they needed, and the museum reused the system for 2016—endorsing Doubleknot’s support and recommending the solution to others.
