Case Study: Debiopharm achieves real-time, 'ship-shape' API stock and shipment management with Dotmatics

Dotmatics as a Disruptive Technology at Debiopharm

Debiopharm, a Swiss clinical-stage drug developer (>400 employees, sites in Lausanne and Martigny and many CRO partners), faced fragmented data, disconnected teams and an inability to track up-to-date API stock levels and movements across internal labs and CROs. To address these challenges they worked with Dotmatics, building on prior Dotmatics solutions (ELN, reagent registration/stock management and data reporting) to specify and deploy an API stock and shipment management capability.

Dotmatics configured a web-based system combining inventory management, an ELN-linked lab request form and interactive reporting to provide live inventory, request/fulfillment tracking and end-to-end shipment visibility. The implementation (including data migration and process changes) united site and CRO data on a single platform, reduced errors and bottlenecks, made stock availability reliable, simplified requests and fulfillment, and freed scientists’ time; Debiopharm subsequently extended the work with an additional Dotmatics Cascade-based analytical-lab request system.
