WISCO Industries Inc. speeds latch assembly with Dorner's 21-component pallet system

Wisco Industries Inc, a producer of metal stampings and food service equipment, faced a challenge assembling a complex 21-component refrigerator door latch for a global appliance manufacturer. The process required high-speed, error-free assembly to win a competitive bid. The vendor, Dorner, provided a solution using a conveyor system to meet this need.

Dorner implemented a semi-automated process using a 2200 Series conveyor system that recirculated specialized work-holding pallets. This system ensured correct component alignment and assembly sequence, which simplified operator training and allowed for efficient riveting and testing. As a result, Wisco secured the production contract by producing the latches faster and at a lower cost than its competitors.
