Sandridge Foods streamlines packaging with Dorner 7400 Series conveyor in 18-hour production shifts

Sandridge Foods faced a challenge when adding a new potato salad packaging line. They needed to merge containers from two lanes into a single line to pass through a metal detection unit, but reusing their existing unit required a complex custom conveyor they lacked time and manpower to build. Jim Meadows, director of process improvement, worked with Dorner through a local distributor to select a suitable solution.

Dorner provided a custom-built 7400 Series AquaPruf sanitary conveyor system designed to fit the existing metal detection aperture, saving the cost of a whole new system. The conveyor reliably merges the containers and is praised for its easy cleaning and hygienic design, operating about 18 hours daily during peak seasons. Meadows highlighted Dorner's ongoing support and the conveyor's role in improving sanitation and reducing maintenance concerns.
