Master Lock runs 20 Dorner conveyors around the clock in manufacturing

Master Lock, the world's largest manufacturer of padlocks, required highly reliable and robust conveyor systems to move small steel components through its intensive, multi-shift manufacturing process. The company turned to its long-time vendor, Dorner, for conveyors that could perform in-feed and out-feed functions in a variety of environments while prioritizing employee safety.

Dorner implemented a range of its conveyor series, including the modern 3200 Series and the durable Modular Plastic Belt (MPB) models, to handle different parts of the lock assembly process. The solution resulted in exceptionally reliable, low-maintenance operation, with some Dorner conveyors like the Slug-o-Matic still functioning after decades of use. Master Lock reported virtually no maintenance needs beyond periodic belt changes and no safety-related issues, allowing their equipment to operate around the clock with minimal downtime.
