University of Leeds - Customer Case Study

The University of Leeds built the Laidlaw Library to add 1,000 extra seats, new group‑work and bookable spaces, and 24/7 access for a growing, flexible student body. To meet the challenge of heavy student traffic while preserving interior environmental control and the site’s historic context, dormakaba was engaged to provide a revolving door solution (KTV Revolving Doors, specifically the KTV‑S Servo‑assisted Manual Revolving Door).

dormakaba supplied KTV‑S doors for two entrances in a bronze anodised finish, delivering servo‑assisted rotary motion and an automatic re‑position (“X”) feature to maximise noise and draught protection when idle. The result: smooth, lightweight entry and exit for undergraduates, uninterrupted study conditions inside the building, support for 24/7 operation, and a contemporary security solution that blends with the library’s heritage surroundings.
