After an earlier Alarm Lock DL4100 product proved time‑consuming to install, confusing to operate, and generated callbacks, dormakaba proposed its E-Plex electronic lock family — specifically the E-Plex E5051 series (E5051XSWL626) — as a better privacy locking solution.

dormakaba supplied and supported installation of the E‑Plex E5051 locks (no wiring through the door, Grade 1, and EP300 software) plus redesigned multilingual signage and installer/programmer training. The result: Clear Vision and Starbucks adopted the plan, 60 E5051 units were installed with 30 more scheduled, and dormakaba reports no callbacks, reduced rekey/repair costs, and reliable restroom access control using up to 299 short‑duration service codes plus a manager code.
