Slough Bus Station - Customer Case Study

Slough Bus Station, redeveloped to replace the 1970s Brunel facility, required reliable, weather‑resilient and aesthetically fitting access from waiting rooms to buses. dormakaba was chosen to meet these challenges, supplying 11 sets of ES 200 automatic sliding door operators to provide robust, high‑use entrances that complement the building’s modern design.

dormakaba fitted the 11 ES 200 units with additional remote sensors that identify arriving buses so drivers can open doors on approach, ensuring doors open only when needed. This arrangement improves passenger safety by preventing access into bus bays, minimises cold air and rain entering waiting rooms, and includes a manual override for power failures—delivering safer, more comfortable and efficient passenger access.
