King’s Cross Railway Station - Customer Case Study

King’s Cross Railway Station in London needed to modernize a Victorian, Grade I listed facility into a 21st‑century transport hub while preserving heritage architecture and coping with heavy passenger traffic. dormakaba was engaged to provide elegant, reliable architectural ironmongery and door automation—including automatic door operators, door closers and featured products ED 100/250 LE and TS 93—to meet accessibility, safety and aesthetic requirements across the refurbished Western Range and new station hall.

dormakaba installed a series of ED 100 low‑energy swing door operators to allow powered opening when required and conventional manual use otherwise, and fitted TS 93 cam‑action door closers to deliver minimal resistance through the opening/closing cycle. The dormakaba solution improved accessibility and safety, provided smoother, easier operation for a heavily trafficked site, and delivered the long‑term performance and visual integration demanded by the regeneration.
