InterContinental Hotel — Boston needed extremely durable, reliable and visually pleasing door hardware to support its waterfront hotel, restaurants, conference facilities, 424 guest rooms and 130 condominiums along the busy HarborWalk. Constant foot traffic, noise-sensitive public spaces and high aesthetic expectations created a challenge to provide Grade 1 performance, quiet operation and low‑profile appearance across both interior and exterior openings. dormakaba was engaged to supply premium access solutions and architectural hardware for the project.

dormakaba supplied a suite of products specified for different needs: 9000 Series Grade 1 exit devices with surface vertical rods for heavy‑use openings, 8900 Series door closers for exterior doors, TS93 GSR closers for smooth, quiet operation, BTS80 concealed closers where hardware needed to be invisible, and 900 stops/holders. The solution was installed throughout the hotel’s public spaces, guest floors and exterior entries, enhancing the property’s visual appeal while delivering the durability and reliable performance required to handle continuous high traffic.
