Integrating a Flexible Wireless Access Control System Eliminates Break-Ins

Desmeules Chrysler Dodge Jeep, one of Quebec’s largest dealerships, was experiencing repeated after‑hours thefts despite cameras, reinforced doors and other measures. Seeking a proactive solution, the dealership consulted a systems engineer from dormakaba and chose the E‑Plex Enterprise Access Control System with wireless E‑Plex locks and Mifare smart‑card credentials.

dormakaba installed an initial set of five E‑Plex locks (including E‑Plex 5600 units with exit hardware) and later added E‑Plex 3600 narrow‑stile locks, a ZigBee mesh network and Enterprise software for centralized management, LearnLok enrollment and audit trails. Since implementing dormakaba’s solution there have been no break‑ins, access to sensitive areas has been curtailed, and staff safety and operational continuity have measurably improved, tracked through audit logs and system reports.
