A dormakaba Case Study
Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, a major hotel and convention complex on the National Harbor near Washington, D.C., needed efficient, secure and sustainable access solutions as part of its broader "Get Green" energy-efficiency initiative. dormakaba was selected to supply access hardware and architectural fittings for the project, including an automatic revolving door (manufactured by Crane, a member of the DORMA Group) and DORMA glass fittings and accessories.
dormakaba’s solution—the Crane automatic revolving door together with DORMA glass fittings—was integrated with the resort’s other sustainability measures (LED lighting and cogeneration) to improve building envelope performance and guest flow. By reducing air exchange at the main entrance and providing durable, attractive hardware, dormakaba contributed to the Gaylord National’s improved energy balance and enhanced visitor experience.
