East Middle School in Oak Creek, WI faced the challenge of outfitting a new $24 million, 180,000 sq ft middle school—designed for roughly 1,000 students—with durable, code-compliant door hardware that could withstand constant high-traffic use. To meet those needs, the school specified dormakaba products, including TS93 and 8900 door closers, 9000 exit devices, EMF hold-open devices and premium locksets.

Contractor VJS installed dormakaba’s heavy‑duty closers, exit devices and holders to provide reliable hydraulic control, easier opening with cam-and-roller technology, reduced projection touchbars and alarm‑wired hold-open functionality for smoke containment.
