Case Study: Tirol Kliniken achieves secure, barrier-free access management with dormakaba

Combining freedom with safety at a clinic for young patients

Tirol Kliniken, the largest healthcare company in Western Austria, needed a flexible access management solution for its expanded hospital facilities in Hall, including a new children’s and youth psychiatric unit. The challenge was to ensure maximum patient safety, barrier-free access, easy administration across sites, and simple time recording for staff. dormakaba provided an integrated access solution centered on its exos 9300 online access control system.

dormakaba implemented a centralized system with about 15,000 mechanical locking cylinders, 37 attendance recording terminals, around 1,700 access readers, and more than 11,000 ID cards with individually programmed permissions. The solution also included contactless TouchGo access with c-lever electronic locks, barrier-free automatic sliding doors, and B-web time recording terminals, resulting in secure, convenient, and highly customizable access control and attendance tracking across Tirol Kliniken’s locations.
