City of Madison Enhances Security with Networked Access Control

City of Madison needed to modernize access control across a mix of aging and newer facilities after a critical failure left a building unsecured during an emergency and the prior installer could not provide timely on-site support. Working with dormakaba, the city piloted a replacement system for IT cabinets and then expanded the deployment; dormakaba’s Keyscan solutions (including Keyscan Aurora and CA150 panels) were chosen for their security, support, and flexibility across 36 agencies at 20 sites.

dormakaba implemented Keyscan Aurora with CA150 panels (plus NETCOM2P and K‑PROX3 components), trained local staff, and rolled the system out citywide—resulting in more than 300 panels and over 1,500 doors secured. The dormakaba solution delivered scheduled access control, multiple credential options (keypads, fobs, ID badges), easier administration, strong local support, and measurable improvement in building security and operational responsiveness.
