Cherokee Central Schools - Customer Case Study

Cherokee Central Schools, a new $108 million, 473,000 sq ft K–12 campus in Cherokee, NC, needed access solutions that supported its goal of LEED Silver–level sustainability while providing durable safety and security for high‑traffic school buildings. To meet those green, ADA and security requirements, Cherokee Central Schools engaged dormakaba to supply architectural hardware and access control products.

Dormakaba provided a suite of products — including TS93 and 8900 door closers, 9000 exit devices, LM pivots, EM electromagnetic door holders, PS power supplies, D800 deadbolts and the SKC serialized key control system — installed across internal and external openings. The dormakaba hardware improved energy conservation and ADA compliance, delivered long‑life, trouble‑free operation for high‑traffic doors, ensured powered access and reliable key management, and blended with the school’s finishes to support its sustainability and security objectives.
