Bridgford Foods, a long‑standing frozen bread and meat products manufacturer with a Statesville, NC plant of about 30 employees, needed tighter, centrally managed access control as part of its food‑defense program to prevent intentional contamination and control who enters the facility. To extend the capabilities of their existing E‑Plex 5700 standalone locks, Bridgford worked with dormakaba to upgrade to the E‑Plex Enterprise system with Wireless Option (Enterprise software, wireless antennas and gateway/routers).
dormakaba’s upgrade centralized management at a single workstation, added real‑time dashboards, wireless connectivity, scheduling, photo‑based user records, audit trails, reports and remote lockdown/unlock controls. The result: Bridgford can enroll a new employee in under one minute, pull audit logs to investigate false alarms, eliminate onsite programming visits, streamline administration and materially strengthen access control and food‑security processes.
